DreamsPS4 midi2osc Tutorial

Welcome to the future, we’re we can play real instruments live on a PlayStation. DreamsPS4 allows us to use midi devices (unofficially thanks to Media Molecule’s Alex Evans) So it’s like unofficially official, or officially unofficial :thinking: Anyway, here’s how to set it all up!

Note: as of patch 1.02, osc was taken out to be worked on more and will return in another patch soon.

Get a midi device

25 Key Akai Professional MPK Mini MKII

Download midi2osc

Head over to the github repo and hit the download button, and download the zip from the dropdown.

Open up the midi2osc program

Whether on a Mac or Windows, unzip your download and go into:

  • midi2osc-master
  • binaries
  • midi2osc.exe

Set up app for midi signals on PS4

Select your midi device that’s plugged into your computer. Input your ps4’s IP address found in the PS4’s Settings, Network, and selection View Connection Status. Enter the IP into the field in the app.


Start playing in real-time in dreams’ sound mode

Open up sound mode and select an instrument. Enter performance mode and start playing! Enjoy! :music_imp:
